Member Profile: Melissa Knowles

closeI came to photography through photographer John Diamond, M.D., whose assistant I have been for the past five years, and whose dedication to using photography for humanitarian purposes has been truly inspiring. His pioneering approach, combining technical, therapeutic, and philosophical aspects, has led to my own love of photographing, for which I am profoundly grateful. He has taught me many things, including an aesthetic perspective based on the appreciation for “the little things; the little things like a blade of grass,” that guided the photographs presented here.
