Mid-day there will be a short drive across the river to historic Beacon, NY.

Lunch (not included in fee), Visit Dia Museum and some of the small galleries along the (small) main street.

Beacon is one of the small towns along the Hudson that participates in the summer art weekends. Beacon got its name for the signal fires that were atop nearby Mount Beacon during the Revolutionary War. It is home to Dia Beacon. Dia's collection of art from the 1960's to present. It occupies a building built by Nabisco in 1929 and is considered to be a model of early 20th century industrial architecture.  (www.diaart.org.)
